October 23, 2011 – Dave & Jane’s Fall Ride / Mountain House
On Sunday, October 23, 2011 RKMC Pa Chapter 41 set out on our second trip of the year to Dave & Janes Crab House in Emmitsburg Maryland then continuing our route to the Mountain House on Rt. 30. Under cool morning temperatures we had a total of 11 bikes, with 15 chapter members and 1 guests led by Co-Road Captain John Sheaffer, who traveled a round trip of 145 miles. October 15, 2011 – Cleveland Brothers ALS Charity Ride
On Saturday, October 15, 2011 RKMC Pa Chapter 41 attended the Cleveland Brothers ALS Charity Ride. Under cool morning temperatures we had a total of 5 bikes, with 7 chapter members led by Charter Member John Quirk, who traveled a round trip of 130 miles. ALS Charity Ride Photos
October 8, 2011 – Cowboy Jack’s
On Saturday, October 8, 2011 RKMC Pa Chapter 41 set out to Cowboy Jack’s just outside Lewistown Pa. With chilly morning temperatures 13 bikes with 12 members and one guest led by Road Captain Brian Hamilton logged a 142 miles round trip. Cowboy Jack’s Photos
Delmarva Bike Week 2011
Several members from RKMC Pa Chapter 41 made their way to Ocean City for Delmarva’s Bike Week 2011. Despite our dislikes with Mother Nature we were able to get some riding in. As always we had a great time, shared with great friends. Delmarva OC Bike Week Photos
August 21, 2011 – Blue Mountain Fishing Lakes
On Sunday, August 21, 2011, under cloudy skies with chances of rain RKMC Pa Chapter 41 set out to the Blue Mountain Fishing Lakes in Schuylkill Haven, PA. We had a total of 9 bikes, with 11 chapter members and two guests led by Co-Road Captain John Sheaffer, who logged 145 miles round trip. While most fared of the rain for the duration of our trip, some members encountered rains close to home.
July 18, 2011 - Memorial Services for Chief David D. Heckert
On July 18, 2011, six members of RKMC Pa Chapter 41 attended the funeral services for Past Chief/President David D. Heckert, of Monroe Fire Company. Our continued thoughts and prayers go out to the Heckert family and Monroe Fire Company. Rest in Peace “Pappy”!
July 10, 2011 – Carsonville Hotel
On Sunday July 10, 2011, the RKMC Pa Chapter 41 headed for the Carsonville Hotel just outside of Halifax. Skies were clear and temperatures were almost perfect. The group of 17 bikes and 23 people arrived safely around 11:30 to enjoy some great conversation with a great bunch of people. We had some new riders join us for the first time and they all indicated they had a great time and would be looking forward to joining us on the next ride. Spite a slight overabundance of flies and a wait for food, it provided good fellowship. Congrats to Troy Russell who won the ring game. From there we headed west and found ourselves stopping at the Bear’s Den in Ickesburg (Perry County) to enjoy some ice cream. Unfortunately Gary did not present a good opportunity for a Kodak moment but we’ll try harder next time! Led by Road Captain Hamilton we logged about 124 miles on the trip. June 26, 2011 – Skeeter’s BBQ
On Sunday, June 26, 2011, RKMC Pa Chapter 41 set out to Skeeters BBQ in Shamokin Dam, PA. Under mostly cloudy skies with comfortable temperatures. We had a total of 12 bikes, with 15 chapter members , and 4 guests led by Co-Road Captain Gary Dressler, who logged a 155 miles round trip. The food was awesome and, in keeping with tradition, an ice cream stop was made and enjoyed by all!
June 5, 2011 – Quaker Steak & Lube / Bloomsburg
On Sunday, June 5, 2011, RKMC Pa Chapter 41 pulled out at for a trip to north central PA to Quaker Steak and Lube in Bloomsburg. Upon pulling in to the area, we were met by approximately 400 other bikers. As it turned out, they were hosting a Children’s Miracle Network event. Luckily we were able to get right in and be seated and we enjoyed some good eatin’!! We had a total of 10 bikes, with 12 chapter members and two guests led by Co-Road Captain Gary Dressler, who logged 185 miles round trip!! A special thanks to Mother Nature for finally cooperating with us!!!
May 21, 2011 – Dave & Janes Crab House
On Saturday, May 21, 2011 RKMC Pa Chapter 41 finally got the best of Mother Nature, beginning our first “official” ride of the year. Under warm sunny skies, we had a total of 16 bikes, with fifteen chapter members and seven guests led by Co-Road Captain John Sheaffer, who traveled a round trip of 130 miles to Dave & Jane’s Crab House in Emmitsburg Maryland.
April 16, 2001 – AHD Open House / TJ Rockwells
While the rain cancelled our ride plans for the weekend, several club member made the best of the situation Mother Nature had to offer. Some members attended the less than stellar Sturgis Road Show, while many members and their families visited Appalachian Harley Davidson’s Open House Event. As always, Black in Black rocked the stage! Thank you to AHD for making the best out a horrible weekend!
January 8, 2011 – 1st Annual Holiday Party
RKMC Pa Chapter 41 celebrated it’s 1st Annual Holiday Party. The evening was filled with a slide show of our Chapter Rides of 2010, followed by a catered meal and words from our President Mike Rugh. Many thanks to our Road Captain’s for putting together a fun, save and successful year of rides and events. President Rugh, presented Vice President Brian Metzger with the 2010 “President’s Award” for his dedication and efforts put forth in our chapters inaugural year. Thanks for a great 2010, as we get ready for an even better 2011. Take Care and Ride Safe!
